Managing Member
Christopher Murray is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo Law School (JD, cum laude) and University of Delaware (BA). He is admitted to practice law in the states of New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Murray is a founding member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association and a member of its board of directors. Prior to founding Murray Legal, PLLC, he represented commercial creditors at two prominent boutique commercial litigation firms in New York.
Mr. Murray has litigated over one hundred cases on behalf of non-bank commercial finance companies. Mr. Murray regularly represents clients with regard to loans, factoring, receivables purchases and merchant cash advance transactions. He is also an experienced appellate litigator, having litigated and defended against multiple appeals in state and federal courts.
Mr. Murray regularly represents: commercial clients in litigation, mediation, and arbitration; receivables purchasers and commercial lenders against breach of contract, fraud, UDAAP, and RICO claims; merchant cash advance clients pursuing breach of contract claims; claims against former employees and contractors for breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements; and creditors in actions and special proceedings challenging collections and judgment enforcement. Mr. Murray also represents clients in various corporate and regulatory matters.
Phillip Spinella is a graduate of the Cornell Law School and Georgetown University.
He is admitted to practice law in New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, as an associate at two prominent nationwide law firms, he gained a wide-ranging experience while working on a variety of cases in federal and state courts, including, for example, a securities class action litigation in federal district court, a product-liability multi-district litigation, representing a global electronics manufacturer in unfair competition litigation, and representing an accounts-receivable factor in federal district court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Patrick Siegfried is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School (JD) and University of Arizona (BA). He is admitted to practice law in New York, Virginia, Maryland, and Utah. Patrick is a founding member of the Alternative Finance Bar Association and a member of its board of directors. He has over a decade of experience working in commercial law, commercial contract drafting and review, debt collection, and regulatory compliance. Patrick’s background working in-house at a prominent SMB finance company has given him a unique understanding of clients’ needs and the ability to provide clients with practical solutions. In addition to his legal work, Patrick is passionate about supporting his local community. He is an active member of several local business and community organizations in Maryland.
Jamie Polon is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Washington, D.C., Georgia, and Pennsylvania, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Court of International Trade, and the United States Supreme Court.
Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, Jamie served as a partner and managed the firm’s creditor rights group, specializing in commercial litigation, recovery, and judgment enforcement. Over his 20+ years of experience, Jamie has represented clients of all sizes, recovering millions of dollars. Jamie also counseled clients in other practice areas, including transactional real estate, mergers and acquisitions of businesses to private equity and private investors, and outside general counsel services for small businesses in New York.
Jamie is a member of the Village Board in East Hills, New York, the National Creditors Bar Association, and the Alternative Finance Bar Association, where he serves as a board member.
Felice J. Muraca is a partner in the firm’s New York office. He has practiced law for over four decades, including distinguished service on the bench as a Judge of the New York State Supreme Court, the Nassau County Court, and the Nassau County Family Court. During his judicial tenure, he presided over a broad range of complex matters, including breach of contract disputes, construction and personal injury claims, medical malpractice, custody and matrimonial cases, and criminal matters. He was regularly called upon to exercise sound legal judgment, manage high-volume dockets, facilitate settlements, and resolve cases fairly and efficiently.
Prior to his judicial service, Judge Muraca accumulated decades of trial-level experience in civil litigation, criminal defense, matrimonial and family law, and corporate matters. He also served as Counsel and Special Assistant to the New York State Senate. His extensive public service, courtroom experience, and strategic legal insight have shaped a collaborative, solution-oriented approach to the practice of law. He firmly believes that cases should be resolved fairly, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
Gabriel Mendelberg is a Partner of the Firm. In his twenty years of legal practice, Mr. Mendelberg has represented a diverse range of corporate, institutional, and individual clients.
Previously, Mr. Mendelberg managed his own law firm for almost a decade and was a partner at Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP. Prior to that, Mr. Mendelberg was an associate at Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding and LaRossa, Mitchell & Ross LP, representing corporations and individuals in high profile and complex cases. Mr. Mendelberg interned for the Honorable David B. Saxe and the United States Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Mendelberg graduated as a Belkin Scholar from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, where he was on the Editorial Board of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a concentration in political science and history.
Mr. Mendelberg is admitted to practice law in New York federal and state courts and has appeared in federal and state appellate and trial courts throughout the United States.
Adam Nichols is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law and The George Washington University. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, Adam served as an Associate General Counsel for an alternative finance company where he litigated breach of contract matters on behalf of the company. Prior to that, Adam represented creditors in the Tri-State area in consumer and commercial collection litigation and enforcement proceedings, including hundreds of matters on behalf of a major utility company for damages occurring during the course of construction. Adam has extensive experience in all aspects of litigation across diverse areas of law, both in and out of the courtroom. He has tried cases to verdict in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, and argued numerous appeals before the Appellate Division.
Adam focuses his efforts on representing sales based financing companies, but he also takes great pride in performing pro bono work.
Andrew Kamins is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Duke University. Prior to law school, Mr. Kamins served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, where he graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power Program. Before joining Murray Legal, PLLC, Mr. Kamins worked at two prominent international law firms litigating complex commercial disputes and advising clients on regulatory compliance. Mr. Kamins has experience litigating in state and federal court, and has argued appeals in front of state and federal appellate courts. Mr. Kamins is currently admitted to the Washington State Bar and District of Columbia Bar.
Joseph V. Cairo is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School (JD, cum laude) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. During law school, he was in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society where he was both a competition winner and semi-finalist.
Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, he gained extensive litigation experience in New York State courts at a mid-size law firm engaging in cases from inception to appellate practice and final resolution.
As a musician, he also engages in pro bono work with the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of New York City.
Junyao Yang is admitted to practice law in New York and the People’s Republic of China. She has handled a wide range of civil and commercial disputes, including shareholder and partnership conflicts, claims against government agencies, defamation, and judgment enforcement. She has experience managing cases from pleadings to appeals. Her earlier legal experience includes international trade compliance, where she worked on export control and sanctions matters for multinational clients, including projects aimed at delisting companies from OFAC and BIS sanction lists and assisting with compliance program reviews.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. is a candidate in the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and she holds a certificate in Entertainment Law. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese.
Shateisha Foy earned her Juris Doctor from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, Ms. Foy served as an Assistant Law Clerk to the Honorable Rupert V. Barry in the Supreme Court of Kings County, the busiest county in New York State. In that capacity, she prepared judicial opinions and drafted decisions on a broad range of civil matters, including labor law, product liability, and motor vehicle negligence cases.
Mustafa El Hassani is an associate in the firm’s Virginia office. He earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws from The George Washington University Law School and his Bachelor of Laws from Brunel University in London. He is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Prior to joining Murray Legal, PLLC, Mustafa worked at one of the nation’s largest consumer collections firms, where he represented a variety of banking institutions throughout Virginia. He also gained experience at one of the largest law firms in the country, where he reviewed complex commercial contracts and managed extensive discovery matters.
